About the Artist

Ella J. C. Hurd was an American illustrator and designer active during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Though relatively lesser-known today, she contributed significantly to the aesthetics of the Arts and Crafts movement, especially through her delicate linework and ornamental motifs.
